Jimmy Page
Description: Jimmy Page EDIT
Jimmy Page has been described as “unquestionably one of the all-time most influential, important, and versatile guitarists and songwriters in rock history”. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Page #9 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a member of The Yardbirds (1992) and as a member of Led Zeppelin (1995).
In addition to the guitars below, Jimmy Page would occasionally employ a violin bow strung with horse hair during live performances. While he wasn’t the first guitarist to employ a violin bow (Eddie Phillips of The Creation beat him to it), it’s use in conjunction with the guitar is most closely associated with Jimmy Page.
More information about how Jimmy Page got his sound is available from the Gibson website.
