Antoine Dufour

Antoine Dufour is a French-Canadian finger-style acoustic, folk and progressive guitar player who primarily composes instrumental music. Originally from l’Epiphane, near Montreal, Dufour started playing guitar at the age of 15. Dufour later studied classical music during college in Quebec but after hearing Leo Kottke, Don Ross and Michael Hedges he began to focus on steel string playing. His musical style has since evolved into a mix of rock, classical music, a funky groove, and a pure folk melody.

Antoine Dufour plays Stonebridge Guitars, using his own signature model the Stonebridge 23CR. He is also known to use a Fishman Rare Earth Blend soundhole pickup which blends a magnetic pickup with a condenser mic. For a thumbpicks he prefers Dunlop Mediums and fake nails for his fingers for capos the Keyser Capo and Third Hand Capos. String gauges are 12,15,23,32,42,56 Elixir Bronze.
