Neil Young plays both acoustic and electric guitars and often plays without a pick. While Neil Young is especially well known for being an active user of Martin dreadnoughts, he also plays a variety of electric guitars and acoustic guitars on tour. For amplification he uses Fender Tweed Deluxe Amplifiers.
Neil Young’s guitars have included a 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, a Martin D-45 Acoustic, a Martin D-28 (nicknamed Hank after Hank Williams), a Martin D-18 acoustic, a Vagabond Travel Guitar, a Taylor 855 12-String, a 1927 Gibson Mastertone, a Gretsch 6120 (Chet Atkins Model) and a Gretsch White Falcon, a Gibson Flying V and a Fender Broadcaster.
