Lyle Lovett

Born in Klein, Texas, Lyle Lovett can be hard to categorize. His music blends country, blues, bluegrass, jazz and a great number of other types of music to create a unique sound all his own. Lyle tours regularly and is known for touring with his “large band” that can sometimes be almost 20 people strong.

Lovett plays Collings guitars – primarily custom-made versions. The guitar listed below is not the exact version played by Lyle but the last D-45 -style Collings dreadnought built before the one below was built for Lovett according to the Collings website.

In a 2006 article in the Austin Chronicle, Lovett admits to owning “several” Collings guitars. He admits he has some others but does all of his performing and recording with Collings guitars.
