Learning Bluesbreaker’s “Hideaway”

So I’ve decided to learn a guitar solo note-for-note.  It’s going to be an excruciating and painfully slow process since my usual approach is just learn the main parts and improvise my own solo. Not only do you get to learn an entire new song, but it also introduces you to a bunch of new riffs and soloing ideas. The hope is that I can “steal” some of Eric Clapton’s ideas (which are “borrowed” from Freddie King) and start to incorporate them into my own playing.

I decided on “Hideaway” after I recently rediscovered the “Beano” album. It had been a long time since I heard it and when I did have it, in it’s cassette form, I was into different music at the time.  But lately I’ve been listening to “Hideaway” and cannot get it out my head.

My plan is to come back and report on the whole experience and compare the tabs between all the various sources on the web.  I do think there are some benefits to paying for tablature but there are definitely some strong free alternatives out there.

Here’s what I’m hoping to be able to do:
