Play David Gilmour’s Guitar

Fender has announced yet another signature guitar - a Stratocaster based on David Gilmour’s famous “Black Strat” guitar. The new signature model goes on sale Sept 22, 2008.
The reproduction was done with Gilmour and his guitar tech Phil Taylor, recreating a classic that was used on Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals. A little history - Gilmour bought the original from Manny’s Music in New York City back in 1970. Gilmour is usually associated with HiWatt amps as well, but has been known to use Fender Tweed Twins and Fender Twin Reverbs.
The “Black Strat” will feature an alder body, black over three-color sunburst finish, a black
pickguard, a one-piece straight-grain maple neck, custom pickups and
Gilmour’s now-infamous electronics and shortened vintage tremolo arm.
