I just recently noticed that Guitar Center holds an event called Guitar Center Sessions, where they invite some heavy weight guitar heroes, like Joe Satriani, John Petrucci and even hip-hop DJs to local Guitar Centers to provide a panel discussion and hands-on tutorials to fans.

I haven’t been to one yet, but I’d be interested in checking it out.  Some of the upcoming artists include Slash and Joe Bonamassa, either of which would be cool to hear.  One drawback seems to be these are mainly held at Guitar Centers around the Los Angeles area and we’re a little north of there.

Even if you can’t make it, Guitar Center posts videos from previous sessions on their website.  Check out the Dave Mustaine interview…how about that “God of Rock” chair he gets on stage!
