RepairMyGuitar.com Helps Find Local Repair Shops
Over the weekend I came across a pretty cool site to help you find local guitar repair shops in your area. RepairMyGuitar.com is a directory of guitar repair shops across the US, Canada, UK and Australia. You enter in a zip code or your city and state information and how specify many miles you want to extend your search. It’s a pretty cool tool if you’re looking for local retailers and repairs in your area.
RepairMyGuitar.com has integrated in Google Maps for displaying locations and they even let you email the local shops with questions via a form on their site. They’ve also included ratings and reviews for each of the repair shops as well. I wrote one up for my favorite shop - Brawer Guitar and Bass Repair.
I didn’t find a lot of reviews on the site yet, but I’m thinking this is a fairly new endeavor. Also it’s not yet completely comprehensive - I did a search in Rochester, NY and was unable to find one of my favorite guitar repair shop - Stutzman’s. But nonetheless it’s still a good start. Right now RepairMyGuitar.com is charging $79.00 for a listing in their directory.
Overall RepairMyGuitar.com is a pretty neat site and good way to connect the online browsers with the offline stores and could ultimately become a good source of lead generation for the repair shops. I really like the idea of letting users email the repair shop questions as a good way to start to generate a connection.
