We spent a good amount of time at the Godin booth at NAMM earlier this month.  Headquartered in Canada, Godin produces a number of top quality guitars under the brands Godin, Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Norman, Art & Lutherie, LaPatrie and Richmond.  We previously rated the Seagull Cedar S6 Original as an excellent starter guitar.  Godin has just released the Godin Redline 3 for “aggressive” electric players.

The Redline 3 features an active EMG-81 pickup in the bridge and an active EMG-85 in the neck for high output tones.  There is also a 3-way switch for choosing between pickups.  The guitar also comes in 6 different color/fingerboard options and a maple neck that is fast and comfortable to play.  The guitar isn’t available in stores yet but seems worth checking out when it is.
