Martin D-1 Acoustic Guitar Returns

The Martin D-1 acoustic guitar is back.  But first, some history.  In the 1990′s, the C.F. Martin Company had a 1-series of acoustic guitars.  That series was designed for players that wanted a good sounding guitar but who couldn’t break the bank (in this case, the bank would break if more than $1,000 was taken out of it).  The previous 1-series of acoustic guitars had a solid back and top, but laminate sides making it the not quite as attractive little sister to Martin’s solid acoustics.  Not anymore.    This month the company has reintroduced its 1-series with four new guitars and now that series is all-solid.  Sure, the back and sides are made of sapele rather than mahogany but these are tough times so who cares?   Full story…

And yes, you can still get out the door for under a grand ($899 at Musician’s Friend).  We’ll be adding all four of the new 1-series guitars to our database, but in the meantime you can see all of the specs and browse many more photos of the Martin D-1 on Fretbase.
