If you saw the Michael Jackson movie “This is It” last weekend, then you wouldn’t have been able to miss Orianthi.  Well, you wouldn’t have been able to miss her unless you normally  miss beautiful, blonde guitarists that really know how to shred.  At only 24, Orianthi has already played with some pretty remarkable guitarists including Carlos Santana and Prince.  After a performance on stage at the 2009 Grammy Awards with Carrie Undewood, Michael Jackson contacted Orianthi about becoming his guitarist for his concert dates in London.

Orianthi is originally from Adelaide at the southern tip of Australia and she started playing guitar at 6 years old.  Orianthi just released her first album “Believe” on iTunes.  Her first single According to You is tearing up the charts.  From what we have seen so far, Orianthi is one to keep an eye on.  And of course, it couldn’t be bad to follow in the shoes of Eddie Van Halen.
