Playing Piano on the Touch Guitar

hands_countingAdmittedly I might a little late to the game with Touch Guitar.  I just saw a tweet from @TouchGuitar talking about making the Touch Guitar sound like a piano.  When I followed the link I found a sweet video of guy playing a two-necked monster that sounded pretty close to a piano for a guitar.  I believe it’s the guitar’s inventor, Dave Bunker, that’s playing the guitar.  Check it out.

A little more research and it turns out that the Touch Guitar has been around since 1956.  Digging a little deeper it was pretty cool to hear how tapping techniques have been in use since the days of that crazy violinist Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840) and that Jimmie Webster wrote the first method book “Touch Method for Electric and Amplified Spanish Guitar” that was published in 1952.  But I digress.  The Touch Guitar is pretty amazing instrument and has a very unique sound.  Check out this video demonstration of the guitar.
