Grid 1’s Battery Powered Tube Amp Goes Direct
The power of lithium batteries has never ceased to amaze me. While it may seem common place in today’s world of hybrid cars, it’s a pretty amazing technological advancement and new applications and improvements are constantly being made.
Grid 1 has added it’s name to the list of uses for a lithium batteries – powering tube amps. The company has announced today that it will start selling it’s G1 60-Watt Battery Powered Guitar Amplifier directly to consumers. We even have a customer video demonstrating the amp. Check it out…
Grid 1 debuted the G1 at this past January NAMM show in Anaheim, CA and Fretbase covered the story when it was first announced back in December 2009.
According to Grid 1 President Kevin Frazier the G1 is “the only 60 watt battery-powered tube guitar amp that can run on battery power for well over 4 hours on a single charge.”
“Producing the best sounding, highest quality, battery-powered tube guitar amp does not come cheap, especially when you consider that it is assembled here in the U.S. and backed up by a stringent standard of customer service,” continued Frazier. “At this early point in our company’s history, the best way to ensure that we have the resources to offer best-in-class products and service is to sell direct to the consumer.”
The G1 offers clean, and distortion tube channels, tone controls for each channel (treble/mid/bass), a proprietary double lush reverb circuit on both channels, and an effects send/return that allows the “send” input to act as a preamp out if no return is present. The G1 features Eminence high quality neodymium magnet speakers, giving the amp a warm, rich sound, and is equipped with “universal power, which allows the amp to operate or charge with any voltage from 90-240VAC. The G1 measures 27” x 10” x 19”, and weighs only 40 lbs.
To further help you “go green” with your rig, the G1 is available in a variety of “green” wood options, including a beautiful bamboo cabinet that is made with the highest quality bamboo plywood.
All G1 amplifiers are sold with a 30-day money back guarantee. To place an order, go to the Grid 1 website at http://www.grid1.com. For additional information, contact Kevin Frazier at kevin@grid1.com or call (800) 928-7144.
