Introducing the Recording King ROJ-26 Acoustic Guitar
If it’s good enough for Schoenberg, it definitely needs to be on Fretbase. While browsing through Schoenberg’s current inventory of new guitars (yes, we’ll use any excuse to pay a visit), we came across the Recording King ROJ-26. We were quite taken by its 000-size body, sunburst top and headstock shape – which reminds us of the Gibson guitars of old (or even the more recent and much more expensive Gibson Keb’ Mo’ Bluesmaster).
But after digging a little deeper, we found ourselves even more impressed with the specifications and price level of the ROJ-26 than we were with its beauty.
The Recording King ROJ-26 has everything one would look for in a small-bodied acoustic. The ROJ-26 has a solid (AA Grade) sitka spruce top and solid Mahogany back and sides. It has a bone nut and saddle and it even has white body and neck binding. Recording King pulled out all the stops for a sub-$1,000 guitar by including inlays and the headstock and on the fretboard. If you are looking for a well-priced 000-shaped guitar with a distinctly vintage look and feel, then the Recording King ROJ-26 could be the guitar for you.
And if you prefer Rosewood over Mahogany, then you might want to try the guitar’s fraternal brother – the Recording King ROJ-27.
The Recording King ROJ-26 is available for $749 from Amazon or (because we’re big fans of buying local) only $699 from Schoenberg.
