A Real Guitar and a Guitar Hero Controller in One
We used to talk about Rock Band and Guitar Hero quiet a bit. Not so much anymore. Turns out 2009 was a down year for those games but there are still millions of players. You Rock Guitar is a both an actual guitar and a game controller for the popular Guitar Hero and Rock Band video games. You Rock Guitar comes out next month for $180 (USD).
You can plug into Guitar Hero and bust out perfect version of “Stranglehold” and then plug into your computer, play that same song for real, and be brought back to reality. Sign me up.
The controller works with Xbox 360, PS3 and the Nintendo Wii but you’ll need a $20 add-on for each system to plug into the controller for it to work. When in game controller mode the guitar uses color-coded frets similar to the ones you see on regular controllers. You tap and hold these frets along with strumming any of the six strings on the guitar. When you connect to an amp or headphones it turns into a real guitar. The You Rock Guitar controller also has a USB port and MIDI features. It even includes 25 songs you can play along with as well.

Jesus. Will it do laundry, too? What can’t it do? Pretty damn cool, if you ask me–and I don’t even play video games.
