If you’re not already familiar with The Black Keys now is as good a time as any to find out about them. The duo out of Akron, Ohio, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have been making awesome heavy blues rock albums since 2001 and “Brothers” represents their sixth release into that same genre of thumping drums and heavy guitar riffs.
NPR Music comes through again with it’s “First Listen” feature. You can stream the entire album for free or listen to individual songs. The band will also embark on a tour starting next week that will cover the US, UK and Canada. Highly recommended!!

Guitarist Dan Auerbach has a new solo album coming out on Feb 10th. You probably know Dan Auerbach from his work the Akron, OH duo The Black Keys. Auerbach wrote ‘Keep It Hid’ at the same time the band was recording Attack & Release with famed producer Danger Mouse – just a testament to this guy’s song writing ability. ‘Keep It Hid’ is a 14-track solo effort and from what we’ve heard it’s as good as any Black Keys album to date.
Dan Auerbach is also doing a 14 night tour to support the new album that starts on Feb 28 in Washington D.C. and ends out on the west coast in L.A. Full story…
