Fender Telecaster Deluxe Black Dove Reviews

Monday, October 26th, 2009

fenderredcl-460-80We’ve found a nice review of the Fender Classic Telecaster Deluxe Black Dove over at MusicRadar.com and we thought we’d share it.  We love guitar reviews - especially ones with sound clips.  We also really like the idea of P90s in a Telecaster guitar.

We did a little more searching around and found a nice video from Andy at ProGuitarShop.com giving a nice video demonstration.  If you’re in the market for a very versatile guitar that will work for anything from country to indie-rock to classic rock, the Fender Telecaster Deluxe Black Dove just might be the one for you.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine Interviews Jack Johnson

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Frankly, we have been wondering when Acoustic Guitar Magazine would finally get around to interviewing Jack Johnson.  We have been fans since 2002 and when it was mentioned at a recent press event that Johnson is the biggest selling artist ever on iTunes, we had to take notice.  Acoustic Guitar Magazine just published an interview with Jack Johnson that has all kinds of goodies for the aspiring Jack Johnson player.

First, the interview is the first one we have found that gets specific about the acoustic (and electric) guitars played by Johnson (for the record:  Cole Clark FL2 acoustic and Fender Telecaster electric).  But even better, the interview includes tabs for four of Johnson’s songs (Constellations, Enemy, Flake and F-Stop Blues) with videos of Johnson himself explaining how he plays them.

Jeff Buckley

Jeff Buckley

Guitar: Fender Telecaster American Standard
Artist: Jeff Buckley
Song: Hallelujah

Jeff Buckley was a rising star out of the New York City’s avant-garde club scene in the 1990’s whose time on earth was cut tragically short when he died in a drowning accident in 1997.

Top 10 Guitars on Fretbase

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Lately, Brian and I can’t go anywhere without being asked this question:

“What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”

It’s getting crazy.  We’re at breakfast and we get asked, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”  We get a bagel with our morning coffee and we’re asked, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”  We go out to lunch and people ask, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”  When we walk to the 7-11 for a Pay Day bar, the guy behind the counter asks, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”  At dinner we get the same question, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”  Same thing during dessert.  The next thing you know, we won’t be able to have a midnight snack without getting a call, “What are the most popular guitars on Fretbase?”

We have to eat, so read on for the list.
