Here’s a cool video from ProGuitarShop.com showing a compilation of guitar player’s fingerstyle techniques. It’s a great video with some great camera shots of some of your favorite guitar players doing their thing. Highly recommended. Via Stratoblogster

If you can’t tell, we’re a little obsessed with strings lately here at Fretbase. Recently, we covered a great set of strings for a dreadnought guitar. But strings aren’t like gas. You can’t use the same kind on all models.
I have been trying to learn more fingerstyle folk lately on a smaller-bodied guitar (a Martin SWOMGT), and that requires some lighter gauge strings. After trying a bunch, I’m going to stick with the D’Addario EJ40 Nylon and Steel Ball End Acoustic Folk Guitar Strings. The silky strings provide a mellow tone for folk guitar and their silky feel seems awfully nice on the fingers.
Which strings do you prefer for fingerstyle folk? Let us know in the comments.
