Guitar iPhone App: FretBoard

We were just given a chance to preview a new iPhone app for guitar players called FretBoard.  FretBoard is similar to many other guitar iPhone apps in some respects but also has some neat features that separate it from the pack.  It’s big differentiation from others is the fact that it supports many stringed instruments including the guitar, banjo, bouzouki, bass, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, lute, viola da gamba, ukulele, dulcimer, all Chapman Sticks and Warr guitars.  Extra points if you even know those last two instruments.

Squiggly Frets Deliver Superior Tone

For years, my violist girlfriend and I have been engaged in the “frets vs. fretless” argument - whether the relative ease of playing on a fretboard makes up for losing the ability to adequately control intonation.  Now, it looks like we’re both wrong.
