It's a compressor!
A few weeks back we did a little story about Trey Anastasio and the Ross Compressor. A quick recap - Phish fans from PhantasyTour.com really wanted Trey to put the Ross Compressor back into his signal chain. Trey had the pedal at the end of his signal chain, after a couple of Tube Screamers, to kind of smooth out the overall sound. But alas, Phish’s lead guitarist had lost his Ross Compressor.
But talk about fans - the kind folks over at PhantasyTour.com pooled their resources and bought Trey a new one and sent it to him via Tom Marshall, Phish’s lyrists and official PhantasyTour liasion.
Trey had a great note back to the fan’s about his eagerness to try out the new pedal, but it seems like he’s missing another piece of gear…

Jams'R Us
Phish has announced a new string of tour dates to follow their reunion show in early March. Phish has been on hiatus since August 2004 but recently announced a string of shows in Hampton, Virginia. Rumors had been swelling up that a reunion was on its way after reports from Trey Anastasio, lead singer and guitarist, began contacting the other members about reuniting.
Trey Anastasio plays a custom, hand built Languedoc G2 and has recently been considering, at the bequest of fans, a Ross Compressor in his signal chain.

Four years ago one the top touring acts in the US called it quits. Now after a string of solo efforts and run-ins with the law, Trey, Mike, Page and John have put the pieces back together and announced a tour coming in March of 2009.
Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio is considered one of the most influential guitarists in the jam band scene. Trey’s extended solos and tight improvisations helped set Phish apart from more of the looser ramblings of other extend guitar solo acts like the Grateful Dead.
Trey also plays a very unique guitar, custom built by luthier Paul Languedoc. Languedoc became Phish’s sound engineer but now runs his own custom guitar shop in Vermont. However if you’re interested in getting a custom built Languedoc guitar, be ready to fork out $10,000…and wait at least 6 months.
