Seymour Duncan Announces Hot Rails for Telecasters
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009
News is already starting to pour out the 2009 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. Officially the NAMM Show doesn’t start until tomorrow but MusicRadar is reporting that one of our favorite pickup manufacturers, Seymour Duncan, is debuting a new Hot Rails Telecaster pickup for the neck position.
Previously the very popular Hot Rails pickups were only available in the bridge position for Telecasters but it looks like Seymour Duncan is expanding to the neck position.
The Hot Rails pickups are essentially humbuckers built to fit into a single coil space. It’s a pretty popular modification in the bridge position on Stratocasters and Telecasters to give the guitar a heavier and fatter tone. With Hot Rails you put a little Gibson into your Fender.
