Description: Gibson Jeff Beck 1954 Les Paul OxbloodEDIT
The Gibson Jeff Beck Oxblood is a Gibson Custom Shop model built to replicate Jeff Beck’s originally modified 1954 Gibson Les Paul. The guitar features a carved maple top with a solid mahogany body, an aluminum wrapover bridge with a custom paint job meant to match the original “oxblood” color of Jeff Beck’s guitar.
Jeff Beck acquired the guitar in Memphis, Tenn after the previous owner wasn’t happy with the modifications made to the guitar. The original owner had requested the guitar’s goldtop be replaced with a chocolate brown color that ended up resembling oxblood, giving the guitar it’s name. The original owner also replaced the P90s with humbuckers and had the neck slimmed from it’s standard 1950s profile.
The Gibson Custom Shop had access to Jeff Beck’s original Les Paul Oxblood to create this signature series. The run was limited to 50 aged models from the master lutheirs at Gibson Custom which include Jeff Beck’s actual signature on the back of the headstock. Another 100 models will be given the V.O.S. treatment.
The 50 aged models run for a street price of $18,299.00 (MSRP: $25,882.00) and the V.O.S. models go for $5,799.00 street (MSRP: $8,235.00)
