Reviews: Martin D-1
Last guitar you will ever buy...

- Pros: Quality craftsmanship. Martin stands behind their products. Sound is amazing. Alot of deapth to this guitar. Beautiful in its simplicity. Satin finish. Not gloss.. I think it improves the tone of the guitar. It really resonates in your hands.
- Cons: None at all.
- Experience: I own it
This guitar is amazing. Owned it for around 3 months now. Really did alot of homework. Played many different models from Larivee and Fender to Taylor and finally Martin. Almost settled for the martin DX-1 for a considerable savings. I Bit the bullet and shelled out the extra dough for the D-1 and i couldn't be happier. No matter where i take this thing. Anyone who plays it falls in love with it. It all depends on preference i guess. All i know is if my guitar isn't in my hands when im over jammin with my buddies any one of them will grab mine over their own. They play Yamaha, Fenders etc.. and theirs are not cheap ones neither. Really a lot of depth to the sound with this. Awesome for some twangy bluegrass. Or bustin out some Neil Young if that's what your into. Bottom line... BUY A MARTIN. Awesome resale. if you ever decide to trade up one day. 25 year warranty. Owner registration. Like their ad says.. after a hundred and sixty some odd years of building guitars you learn a few things.
BTW this guitar i bought. nov, 2009 is not mahogany but rather african sapele back and sides. Very good sound and very similar to mahogany at a fraction of the price. u can read all about it on the martin website.
