The Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS is part of the American Special series that was launched in January 2010 to provide guitarists with an US-made Fender guitar that would have a street price that was more economical and within reach of more guitarists.
Features of the American Special Stratocaster HSS include an alder body with gloss urethane finish, 9.5”-radius maple neck, ’70s style headstock, jumbo frets, Texas Special middle and neck pickups, an Atomic humbucking bridge pickup, and vintage-style synchronized tremolo. The HSS also has the Greasebucket tone circuit that rolls off highs without adding bass to the signal.
