Description: Fender Telecaster (American Standard)EDIT

The revolutionary Fender Telecaster broke ground and set trends when it was first released. Intially released as the Broadcaster in 1950, the name was later changed to Telecaster after a trademark dispute with Gretsch. The Telecaster was designed from the outset to be mass produced and it’s modual construction allowed for assembly line production. Telecasters are known for their bright, biting tone. Part of the reason for this tone is that the single coil bridge pickup has more windings of copper wire around the pickup. This extra winding around the alnico magnets creates a higher output. Also the slanted layout that moves the pickup closer to the bridge for the higher strings adds to the bright character of the guitar. The Telecaster now comes in many variants by Fender and is one of the most popular solid body guitars in the world.
