  • Pros: A VERY SOLID GREAT SOUNDING GUITAR,
  • Cons: NONE THAT I HAVE FOUND YET
  • Experience: I own it
  • I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT A GIBSON FOR MY DAUGHTER AS A STARTER, IT SOUNDED TINNY, AND JUST DIDNT HAVE THE CORRECT SOUND, SO AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I BOUGHT A SEAGULL S6, AND IT BLOWS AWAY THE EPIHONE, SOUND IS CRISP AND SOFT, HAS A GREAT FEEL AND SOLID BODY, THIS GUITAR IS NOT JUST A STARTER, ITS A KEEPER

  • Pros: Easy to finger chords. The neck is not too wide and I think is the perfect guitar for beginners and those with some experience too!
  • Cons: It's not a Martin and it's not a Gibson folks; but for my level of playing experience it is perfect.
  • Experience: I've heard about it
  • Really like this guitar. It is very well made. I am surprised I could get this nice a guitar for the money(399.00). Got it at Guitar Center; they treated me very good. I used to play an Epiphone a lot when I was younger but I gave it to my son. I wanted to get back into playing, mostly just around the house for my own pleasure. I found this Seagull and it is exactly what I was looking for. I would buy another in a heartbeat..

  • Pros: they have a nice warm tone and the action is very good for an acoustic. The build quality and finish is very good also.
  • Cons: The seagull neck is actually wider than a normal acoustic, which I found difficult to get used to at first.
  • Experience: I own it
  • I was looking for a guitar in this price range for quite a while ($350 Canadian. Soundwise nothing else came close to the seagull. Epiphones and Fenders around this price sound either tinny or dull. The seagull feels very high quality and the sound is gratifying.

  • Pros: Great sound, comfortable neck, lovely naked wood
  • Cons: Electronics in constant need of fiddling...
  • Experience: I own it
  • I received a Seagull for a college graduation present nearly 20 years ago. I've played dozens of higher priced Taylors, Takamines, and Martins in the two decades since, and I can honestly say I've only once been tempted to buy another acoustic guitar to replace it. (A koa-wood Martin.) I love the matte finish, and the 20 years of scratches give it nothing but character. I've never played an acoustic that FELT better. You can find acoustics with more bass or more volume, but the sound of the S6 is very musical and balanced.

Mine came with an aftermarket under-saddle pickup, and the plug is in the strap pin, which gets loose and needs to be soldered every 18 month or so. Minor quibble and in no way the fault of Seagull.

I love this guitar and will play it until I wear a Willie-Nelson-style hole in the top.
