Excellent starter guitar for your son or daughter
- Pros: I liked that the scale and fingerboard was the right son for my son to play but that I could also noodle on it in a pitch. Able to stay in tune for a while. Nice to strum and even for some fingerpicking.
- Cons: Needs to be tuned each time you play it. Sound is a little flat but still great for the price.
- Experience: I own it
We bought the Yamaha JR1 guitar for my son for his sixth birthday and now almost two years later he still plays it regularly. It is just the right guitar for someone who is just learning to play and needs a guitar to allow them to start playing basic chords.
