Description: Recording King ROS-626EDIT

The first model in the Century Series, the ROS-626, is accurately replicated from a 1902 original. With a hand-buffed nitrocellulose finish, and a 12th fret neck joint for a robust sound and comfortable playability, this guitar reflects its heritage with the deep, authentic tone and warm projection found on original fretted instruments from the early 20th century. It features an AAA solid Sitka spruce top, solid figured mahogany back and sides, one-piece mahogany neck with a vintage ā€˜V’ profile and slotted headstock. This model also comes with herringbone purfling, M.O.P. diamond fretboard inlay, Grover open-geared tuners and pyramid style ebony bridge.

Schoenberg Guitars has some great photos of this guitar.

  • Pros: I like to play country blues and had a really hard time finding an affordable 12 fret with all solid wood construction. I've had mine for about 6 months and like it even better now than when I first bought it.
  • Cons: The finish is not bad, but could be better. I bought mine used about 1 1/2 years old and it already had some finish cracks. I'm not too into cosmetics, though...they all get beat up eventually if you play them a lot.
  • Experience: I own it

  • Pros: First, I play classical guitar, so the neck feels perfect. Next, the action is better that a classical guitar. I wanted to play some blues, and this guitar fit the bill.
  • Cons: There was a little string binding when I first got it, but that seems to be over now.
  • Experience: I own it
