  • Pros: This guitar is great for fingerpicking, strumming soft or hard, and works on all types of music.
  • Cons: Lousy case. I upgraded to a Gieb case.
  • Experience: I own it
  • Briefly, after comparing this guitar to numerous Taylors, high end Martins, and many more guitars over $2,000 dollars I found no weaknesses in tone and workmanship. Martin has somehow built a smaller guitar with deep bass and very clear and bell tone highs. A plus is all the beautiful inlays found on much higher priced Martins. I am a believer in bolted on necks as more wood makes contact and shims are not required as in dovetail necks. It's time to admit that bolting on the neck is a superior way of building. Taylor uses a similar system , and it works. The aura electronics are superior to anything on the market period.

  • Pros: I sold my Taylor 914 CE Limited Edition Acoustic guitar for this instrument. The overall resonance and acoustic tone was superior to the Taylor. The Aura system provides great presentation and variety of acoustic tone for all playing circumstances.
  • Cons: I upgraded the plastic hardshell case to the geib style case. I felt the quality of the guitar deserved a better case.
  • Experience: I own it
  • I was looking for an electric acoustic guitar with great projection and natural acoustic tone. I found this guitar for its price point a fantasic instrument. It has the looks,it feels sleek and solid and its really an eye catching stage guitar. This guitar excels with finger style picking, soft or hard strumming and projects clearly complex tone arrangements when using the capo. The Aura system enhances the natural acoustic tone and allows for a variety of tone adjustment with the on-board 3 band equalizer. The 100% Aura sound is just plain stunning with the high quality mic settings chosen for this guitar. I have looked at alot of different electric acoustic guitars keeping an open mind for my next guitar between 2 - $4000.00 I feel for the money, I got a guitar that could easily cost alot more with all of its included appointments. I am a very satisfied new martin owner.
